Biography
Richard is the founding member of Chisholm Law Group LLC and was previously a managing partner of WardChisholm, LLP, ChisholmOliver, LLP, and various predecessor entities.
Richard’s law practice focuses on estate planning, estate and trust administration, business and individual tax planning, and domestic and international tax planning and compliance.
Utilizing his decades of experience as an attorney, certified public accountant, and former Revenue Agent with the Internal Revenue Service, Richard moves seamlessly among those practice areas, providing his clients with efficient, creative, and effective results.
By listening closely to a client’s concerns and asking appropriate questions, Richard develops a clear understanding of each client’s goals and objectives and designs appropriate strategies for achieving them.
Leveraging his more than 40 years of practical business, tax, estate planning and estate and trust administration experience, Richard assists his clients with
- preserving and protecting a family’s wealth for future generations through commonsense estate planning,
- advising executors, personal representatives, and trustees in fulfilling their fiduciary duties,
- advising business owners regarding tax and business issues, and
- helping taxpayers reduce the burden of complex tax systems.
Formerly an adjunct professor of law for 14 years, Richard contributed to the legal community by teaching estate and gift taxation and estate planning courses to law students and is a frequent lecturer for continuing education courses to the legal and accounting communities.
